Tappo-Certified Hardware Overview
To ensure you can use Tappo with peace of mind, we partner with professional POS hardware suppliers to carefully select and test a range of devices.
Below are the device types and key specifications currently supported by Tappo, so you can choose the right combination based on your store size and usage scenarios.
Tablet
Android commercial devices suitable for front-counter checkout, in-store ordering, and floor service:
– Runs on Android OS and is designed for business use, offering stable performance for long-term connectivity and continuous operation.
– Available in different screen sizes and memory/storage configurations, so you can flexibly deploy them according to location and number of users.
– Built-in Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and USB-C interfaces; fully compatible with the Tappo App and verified through real-device testing.
– Some models can be paired with dedicated stands and peripherals to form a complete front-counter POS workstation.
The Tappo App also supports iPad, with the following requirements:
– iPad 10 or newer
– Screen size: 10.2″
– Minimum OS version: iOS 15.0
– Resolution: 2160 × 1620
Stand / Dock
Dedicated stands for securing tablets while providing power and connectivity:
– Holds the tablet firmly in place, ideal for counters or bar tops, reducing the risk of drops and making it easier for staff to operate.
– Provides power and data via Pogo Pin / USB-C / USB-A interfaces, keeping the countertop neat and tidy.
– Some stands can connect directly to receipt printers, cash drawers, and other peripherals, reducing extra cables and adapters.
– Supports quick-release designs, making it easy to switch between a “fixed counter” setup and “handheld on the move” usage.
Printer
Professional POS printers for receipts and kitchen tickets:
– Supports Traditional Chinese receipt printing with clear fonts, suitable for F&B and retail billing.
– Offers multiple formats such as 80 mm thermal printing and impact (dot-matrix) printing, so you can choose based on front- or back-of-house needs.
– Provides multiple connection options, including USB, Ethernet (LAN), and serial ports; some models additionally support Wi-Fi for easy connection to Tappo terminals.
– Can be used together with cash drawers, supporting the standard interface for opening the drawer via the printer.
Cash Drawer
High-durability cash drawers designed for checkout environments:
– Standard layout with 4 bill and 8 coin compartments, making it easy to organize cash of different denominations.
– 24 V RJ-11 interface that connects to compatible receipt printers, allowing the drawer to open automatically.
– Available in different sizes and front-panel materials (steel / plastic) to suit various counter layouts.
– Multiple lock positions and an emergency-open design to balance security with real day-to-day operational needs.
